A performing artist and a visual artist are being highlighted in February's Riverside Fine Arts Series.
Billboard chart-topping jazz artist Esperanza Spalding will perform at 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 19, at the Church of the Good Shepherd, 100 Stockton St. in Riverside. The 23-year-old prodigy-turned-pro is known for her uncanny instrumental chops, a multilingual voice that is part angel and part siren, and natural beauty that "borders on the hypnotic," according to a news release. She sings, plays bass and does an interpretive dance as she plays, the release said. Tickets are $25, $10 for students, and can be purchased by calling 389-6222 or visiting riversidefinearts.org.
Meanwhile, work by local artist Daryl Bunn will be on display in Craig Hall from Friday, Feb. 19, to Friday, March 5. A reception with Bunn will be held after Spalding's concert. Bunn is a multidimensional artist/photographer whose work is represented by Fogle Fine Art & Accessories of Jacksonville, Jane Gray Gallery of Jacksonville and Soho Myriad of Atlanta and Los Angeles.
