sweet escape lyrics

Tonight episode of "American Idol" brought the always-entertaining group auditions. The remaining contestants form groups of three to five people, choose from a select list of songs, and choreograph the number to perform in front of the judges. Group auditions always provide for an excellent episode, as it is the only time in the show when contestants are forced to depend on others in their performance.

Several groups completely biffing Gwen Stefani's "Sweet Escape," which is a song I would never in a million years attempt to sing in this setting. It's a great song, super fun, and catchy as hell. But the rapid-fire lyrics are impossible to understand, much less spit out, and that tripped almost every group. Some of them were straight-up amateur night, and I'm amazed any of those girls (including Haeley Vaughn) escaped unscathed.

A lot of people messed up the lyrics to "Sweet Escape," but Simon was relatively nice to everyone it seemed, except for the girl Moorea who talked back to Kara about what a hard time they all had and Simon told her to shut her yap about only having 12 hours to learn a song. A baby was even born, with the father, Michael Lynche, following along on his iPhone. It was a little strange, but very sweet.
