Alex Lambert Part of 'Idol' Group Performers

Tonight was group-audition night on “American Idol,” and one of the performers making headlines is Alex Lambert. He was part of a five-member group, The Dreamers, who were considered the most drama-filled group to perform tonight. The rest of the group consisted of Mary Powers, Margo May, and late-comers Hope Johnson and Erin Hundley. The last-minute additions gave the group a slow start, and they lost several hours trying to decide if they should all work together or not.

Powers was overbearing and rude to the others from the start, and was called out on it at least once. This attitude caused a lot of tension between her and the group, and will probably not do her well in the voters’ eyes, if she makes it that far.

The group performed “Dreams” by the Corrs, and they had several problems with their performance, including clashed harmonies, missed choreography, and missed notes by Powers. The group was mercifully cut off by Simon Cowell, and Kara DioGuardi told them, “It’s like the dream died somewhere.” The performance gave audiences their first look at Lambert, and he stood out as one of the best performers in the group. He moved on to the next round along with Johnson and Powers.

Lambert is from North Richland Hills, Texas. His musical influences are Willie Nelson and Johnny Cash. He is often seen in the goofy sunglasses he loves to wear, and playing the guitar. Thanks to tonight’s performance, he has been noticed by several websites, including The Hollywood Gossip, MTV Music News and BroadwayWorld.com.
